“quasi-omniscient”?
C S Lewis would be the first to object that there is no “quasi-deity.” As he put it, “liar, lord or lunatic.” I think the makers of this woke abomination are well within the liar and lunatic camp, although I am not sure which one wins out.

Strange apparemt inaccuracy: James Broadbent played Aslan. Liam would’ve been way cooler. Did they release the movie with different voiceovers?

Not only will Aslan be female, he will also be an ape.

The obvious question is whether Merle Streep will be playing a lion or a lionness.

The role of the evil queen will be played by Alec Baldwin using his Trump persona. Shooting will start in 2025.

Aslan isn’t merely “generally interpreted as make.” He is given male pronouns throughout, and much is made of his mane and kingship. Not that Hollywierd would notice, but he also has a distinctively FATHERLY parenting style.

I can’t wait for movie two, when Lucy gets given a machete by Mother Saturnalia.

“…Weinstein, now jailed, a “god,”

I saw it live and since then I’ve made it a point in searching noirs to watch on firestick, to scroll pst anything she’s in. Like Jane Fonda movies. For the same reason. God and Country

I remember it as Fonda saying he is “God”. Not “a god” horrified me. And that was before he was found out to be completely depraved

Right......only after Streep’s comment, came the avalanche
of stories about Weinstein’s shocking behavior toward women.

The scumbags are gender swapping Aslan. C.S. Lewis would have the grace to forgive them, l do not.

Aslan is a dignified and quasi-omniscient lion, generally seen to be male and usually interpreted as an allegory for Jesus.

Which is the exact reason the role cannot be played by a woman.

Efforts to put a woman into this role is more "woke" sh*t from liberals who control these production teams, and apparently they still haven't learned their lesson yet.

They need to keep taking financial drubbings until they are broke, and can no longer afford to push their stupid ideas.

Nolte: Netflix’s ‘F**k You’ to Christians – Meryl Streep to Play Aslan in ‘Narnia’ Movie

In today’s edition of Hollywood Hates You More Than It Loves Money, Meryl Streep is in talks to play Aslan in Netflix’s upcoming Narnia movie.

Christian author C.S. Lewis made no secret of the fact that Aslan, the talking lion in his timeless Narnia series, was meant to be an allegory, a stand-in, for Jesus.

Netflix being Netflix, I expected Aslan the Lion to become Aslan the Black Panther. Sadly, my failure of imagination once again underestimated just how much Netflix and Hollywood hate and seek to alienate Christians, especially when they can do it with our own stories. So I should’ve known Netflix and feminist director Greta Gerwig (Barbie) would hire a girl to voice Aslan.

The girl in this case is Streep. The offer is not yet signed nor sealed, but once a casting story makes it to an entertainment rag like Deadline, it’s pretty much in the bag. The fact that this is being considered says it all.

This is nothing more or less than Netflix and Greta Gerwig trolling Christians. It’s a childish fuck you that says, We hate you so much we’re spending $300 million on this f**k you.

There is no artistic reason to make this choice. Actually, it’s an anti-art choice. Great stories become great through subtext, and one of the pleasures of the Narnia series is looking again and again for Lewis’s Christian and Biblical subtext—what Lewis wanted to explain to us about God, our relationship with Christ, and how it all tied in with our fallible humanity. Once you make a girl God, the story becomes a Big Nothing because Aslan is no longer God. Without that Christian thread to pull on, you’re left with $300 million in computer graphics.
