Or is because of the chemicals and drugs that the US puts in it’s good?
Howard Lughead overlooking that point.
In it’s food (damn autocorrect)
It will be painful, but the US needs to wean itself from economic dependence on China.
China is a highly managed economy. I’ve seen it firsthand - published duty rates on something may be a “low” 10%, but imports will always face many non-tariff barriers, inspections, delays, etc....
If it’s a popular item in China, the CCP will work to grow local substitutes.
If it’s a strategic/high tech item - the CCP will require investment in China to sell the product, technology transfer, partnerships with government to do business, etc.... - until they have everything they need to eliminate you.
We buy our meat and eggs from local farmers. No chemicals. Usually grass fed.
Tariffs will tank our economy. Look at the Dow now!
““they hate our beef because our beef is beautiful and theirs is weak.”
What does that even mean??
THEY CALLED OUR BEEF WEAK??!?
TO ARMS!!
The DOW is not the economy.
OK, but what does that have to do with US beef sales to Europe?
By the way, Argentine has a pretty good reputation and costs half that of ours.
Look! Another anti American, MAGA hating Zeeper bashing Trump's plan.
The stock markets have been over valued for a long time. Like the 1920s, people have been using credit to purchase stocks and now the market is correcting.
How it will settle we shall see.
The markets falsely have been declared a indicator of the economy. They are not and are vastly reactionary.
Give it a while, the traders are looking for domestic stocks to purchase now.
.
The DOW is a legalized gambling. It is NOT the economy.
“Look at the Dow now!”
Growing pains. Don’t worry.
Give a Brit a nice ribeye and he’ll put two fried eggs and loathsome brown sauce on it. Make them pay for the privilege.
You are right. Racing to the bottom is not an option. We can’t compete with $10 wages a day from China and other 3rd world countries.
Yes as much as I hate to give the EU credit for anything I think they try to keep GMO out of their food supply.
In the long run Trump will get better deals from the people who have been ripping us off - and he’ll get them to lower their tariffs against us. This was long overdue. In the short run it could get a little bumpy - in the long run we’ll be much better off.
