Of course they have.
But when you compare the number of EVs on the road and the number of ICE cars on the road, the frequency of fires is much more common in EVs, and once they catch fire...they are difficult if not often impossible to extinguish via conventional means, and the toxic materials released in those intense fires is far more harmful.
As this guy (MGUY in Australia) states in one of his videos, the cars in an enclosed space can turn the entire space into a gigantic fuel-air bomb. I suspect that is what happened here that killed the firefighters.
It is common that parking garages prohibit EV’s. You don’t hear about that much either.
