I think I could trim it to 200 or so.
I’ve given a few to Goodwill which sells
them for a buck and change.

The DVDs I sold/sell are niche-market (classic horror movie host television program) that I’ve authored with the authorization and cooperation of the creator/IP rights holder. They’re brand-new, in shrink wrap, and usually sold one at a time. Packed in a bubble wrap mailer. From Michigan to Louisiana, where most of my shipments go, takes about 3 business days. Not bad!
Works great with pre-paid postage labels from Pirate Ship. USPS Tracking, and insurance included in the label price.
In your case, I would think USPS Media Mail would be a cost-effective option, regardless of the number of discs you sell.
