I suspect this is true. You can be an illiterate impoverished woman in Ethiopia and welcome your child, or you can be a wealthy New York elite with a six figure income and a mansion and fear the impact of a child in your life. Circumstances really have terribly little to do with it.

A Christian war correspondent, Chuck Holton, often says his parents taught him to never be motivated by selfish emotions like fear or selfishness. I often think of that in the context of abortion. For all the talk about empowering women, the subtext of abortion is a constant appeal to fear, insecurity, seflishness and feeling powerless.

Contrast this with a life of virtue: responsibility, selflessness, hope for the future and love of humanity - all of which naturally reject the abortion mindset. It is hard to grasp how anyone calling themselves Christian can embrace the worldview of fear and selfishness over the biblical worldview encompassing the virtues mentioned above.
