Russia says it cannot accept U.S. proposals on Ukraine 'in current form'

Russia cannot accept U.S. proposals to end the war in Ukraine in their current form because they do not address problems Moscow regards as having caused the conflict, a senior Russian diplomat said, suggesting U.S.-Russia talks on the subject had stalled.

The comments by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov suggest Moscow and Washington have so far been unable to bridge differences which President Vladimir Putin raised more than two weeks ago when he said U.S. proposals needed reworking.

"We take the models and solutions proposed by the Americans very seriously, but we can't accept it all in its current form," Ryabkov was quoted by state media as telling the Russian magazine "International Affairs" in an interview released on Tuesday.

"As far as we can see, there is no place in them today for our main demand, namely to solve the problems related to the root causes of this conflict. It is completely absent, and that must be overcome."

-snip-

Asked about Trump's latest remarks about wanting Putin to do a deal on Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters earlier on Tuesday that Moscow was "continuing our contacts with the American side".

"The subject is very complex. The substance that we are discussing, related to the Ukrainian settlement, is very complex. This requires a lot of extra effort."

The difficulty in understanding the Russian is that we do not take cognizance of the fact that he is not a European, but an Asiatic, and therefore thinks deviously. We can no more understand a Russian than a Chinaman or a Japanese, and from what I have seen of them, I have no particular desire to understand them, except to ascertain how much lead or iron it takes to kill them. In addition to his other Asiatic characteristics, the Russian have no regard for human life and is an all out son of bitch, barbarian, and chronic drunk.

Not surprising. Ukraine waited too long to make a deal, now their defense problems are too obvious.

Since Russia doesn’t want NATO to defend Ukraine, Ukraine should not have a limit placed by treaty on the size of its army.

Putin just invited the Taliban to attend his May 9th “victory parade” in Red Square.

Can we stop pretending Ukraine is a country defending individual freedom when they have press gangs abducting men on the street and inducting them into their “army”?

Putin has been deliberately wasting President Trump’s time and patience.

Russia is winning - we don’t get to dictate terms.

Trump is an infinitely better leader and negotiator, but he’s not King of the World and his options are mostly the same as Biden’s; keep throwing resouces into the black hole or cut losses and move on.

Threatening sanctions hasn’t and will not work - we already blew our load in that regard, and sanctions, threats and arming Ukraine is no way to make a deal with the side that’s already withstood all of it.

Ukraine is the SUCK, and America has been choosing our foreign entanglements very poorly.

With most US military aid stopped, Russians have the advantage on the battlefield, so why would they stop invading Ukraine?

Neither side wants peace.

It’s time for the USA to get out of this quagmire and let the Slavs kill each other. Eventually there will be so few Russians and Ukrainians alive that China will easily take back the part of Manchuria that was annexed by Stalin.

The Eurotrash will love this scenario.

So, what does Russia need to have happen in order to be agreeable to stopping their mass murders and other violence?

Do the Ukrainian people need to prove to them that they seriously love their Russian brothers?

What do the English and Americans need to do to prove that we’re not going to try to talk Ukrainians and others into hating the Russians?

Oh poor Putin in how Americans (possibly in his mind) spend 24/7 scheming up ways to try to get the people in central Europe to hate Russia. Americans don’t have time to try to get anyone to hate Trump, Biden, Harris, Musk, Schumber, Newson, Johnson, other Republicans, or other Democrats. Every waking moment of ours is spent trying to figure out how to get people in central Europe to hate Russia? Their hatred has nothing to do with all the mass murders & other violence that Russia does against them? Geeez!! Putin is delusional, in addition to being a mass murderer.

One thing for sure is that if they don’t end this “Special Military Operation” (which is illegal to call “War” in Russia) soon that it’s duration will be longer than their “Great Patriotic War” of 1941-1945 when over 27 million people in the USSR died.

What may most save Putin’s regime is the fact that any military power on Earth that is foolish enough to invade Russia will probably lose just as Hitler, Napolean, and others in history have done & lost in the long run. He’s a fool if he thinks he’s going to . He’s a lot like Macron in France or Lulu in Brazil (or the Big Guy whose son was a highly paid oil executive and artist) in pushing to incarcerate his political opponents on solely political grounds.

No matter what happens on this “Special Military Operation”, Putin is never going to be welcomed into the G7 circles again. He’s a pariah forever going forward.

lol - "should." Righteous indignation and wishful thinking isn't worth dung when you've made bad decisions and run out of options.

Russians don't want the Nazis who were shelling them or NATO around. The sooner globaloids and Zeepers get that through their heads the sooner we can move on.

I can't understand Trump's continued involvement in Ukraine. He tried to bring people together - and it exposed immediately that the EU-Brussels want to continue the war, their puppet Zelensky doesn't want peace, and Russia is intransigent on the goals they have stated all along.

Trump taking ownership of Biden/Blinken/Nuland's failed adventure is a path to failure.

The US never did real sanctions on Russia. Unless you put sanctions on all countries that still do commerce with a sanctions target then it’s not really sanctions.

Patton also thought he was reincarnated and fought in the Punic Wars and with Napoleon. He was great at armored warfare, but at other things, he was an aristocratic bigot with limited range.
But as a leader of a cavalry or armored attack, he was a great.

Modern-day Russia IS NOT THE OLD SOVIET.

You're totally retarded if you don't grasp that.

It's the EU/NATO/WEF that is everything the Soviet Union was as proven by the assault on free and fair elections in Romania, France and Turkey.

So in your mind, we should wind up with sanctions on Brazil, China, India, Singapore, Turkey, half of Africa, Mexico, etc?

Great plan, simpleton.
