For now, like the Norks, Putin is a threat in being that costs China nothing but degrades US ability to bring all our resources to bear on them. Russia is a threat to our rear in a Pacific War.
But, most of Russia east of the Urals can be claimed by the Middle Kingdom on historical grounds......especially Russian maritime areas like Vladivostok. There are few Russians in their east, but lots of resources.
Putin is desperate now....he is not stupid and realizes he has a wolf by the ears...played properly, Trump could peel Russia away from China by offering “protection from both the Euro Trash and the ChiComms.
