“Mexican is a race?”
Ask one for yourself they will repond in Mexican Spanish by saying they are La Raza which literally means The Race in English.
Mexicans consider themselves a unique ethnicity and largely a unique race. Given that nearly every native born Mexican is indigenous peoples and Spaniard of 50 to 70% indigenous vs Spaniard by DNA. Only the very small upper class of Mexico is 50% or more European Spanish the vast majority of Mexicans are exactly the opposite of that majority indigenous.
The Spanish spoken in Mexico is vastly different than Spanish in Spain. By population Mexico has more than double the native Spanish speakers vs Spain so arguably Mexican is the dominate language it really should be its own language as Mexican Spanish is heavily laced with Aztec and Mayan words.
Most Tejanos and Texican’s also identify as either indigenous peoples or Mesoamerican Latino aka La Raza and not Europeans at all. Especially the ten plus generation Tejanos who have been in Texas since before the USA even existed or Mexico for that matter it was the Spanish Empire from the 1500s
Is he actually an illegal? California is loaded with Mexicans who are US citizens.
And he didn’t deny it.
Yes, we should be allowed to dislike anyone we want to dislike, for any reason, as long as we don’t commit crimes against them. It’s amazing how many people don’t agree with that and want to ruin others’ lives.
Given that this restaurant is behind security it would take some seriously good forged papers to pass the federal level background checks to work inside the secure area of an airport. You would then have to pass security daily with proper identification just to get to work. The odds of this person being a illegal immigrant is virtually zero, given that ginger prints are required for the background checks to work on federal airport jurisdiction.
So what is likely is some racist couple couldn’t tell the difference from a legal resident or even a multi generational Hispanic in California where seven plus generation families exist in quantity. Same for Texas we have Hispanics here that predate the USA, Mexico even the Spanish Empire as they are indigenous peoples here since at least the last ice age. Latinos ARE indigenous people most are at least half if not 70+% by DNA native Americans or First Nation’s the difference is semantics the DNA between ,First Nations, Native Americans and Indigenous Americans is all nearly identical especially the Y chromosome group that defines the whole group.
Good thing nothing important needed to be included in the news like, oh I dunno, maybe that we found the 4th soldier’s body in Lithuania.
What is ridiculous is an already included 18.5% tip on the bill. That’s another in the long list of why we do not eat out. I was a waitress in high school and it isn’t rocket science. A waitress does no more work carrying a $10 salad vs. a $50 steak so it shouldn’t be based in the meal cost.
It isn’t the customer’s job to do an employee evaluation. Tips were supposed to be gratuities not a must. Yeah, it can be removed from the bill but should never have been on there. Some places put a sign out front to not bother coming in if you don’t fork over a 30% tip. After that piddly little waitressing job when I was a kid, I never got tips at any other job, hmmm, wonder why. AND they don’t have to pay taxes, grrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!
The only tip I hope for when preparing meals for my family is a thanks.
I can’t believe are still open. I remember, my wife and I went to one in Disney right not long after they opened. Had all the celebrities that were owners.
Had the worse menu I had ever seen. The food was all tofu and crap like that for the most part. Right after that, the honeymoon wore off and they started closing stores.
A couple years later we had a good coupon to go there in a package vacation deal, so we tried it again. While the menu was better, it still wasn’t very good and way overpriced.
We vowed to never go again and we never did.
Yeah, this all sounds like a true story. /sarc
BTW, just pulled out of the oven a $3.75 homemade sausage/mushroom/onion/fresh basil from the window sill 17x11” pizza (20” round). Normally, homemade pizza is closer to $3. No restaurant price, tip, or delivery. Pizza Hut’s extra large New Yorker is 16” starting at $17 which is smaller and less toppings.
And a truck hit pedestrians in Boston.
A previous poster asked that question.
I didn’t want to be repetitive.
lol
Oh gee, the Planet Hollywood is closing down in a few days, so he will be out of a job then. Better start looking!
That crack reporter wrote an entire article about anti-illegal feelings expressed against an individual without once clarifying whether the individual is a legal resident. All the man indicated was his ethnicity—no proof of anything.
