Nothing!...The US does affects "climate change".
Now China and India...that's a different story.
The worlds of oil and gas are worlds of numbers and units.
US LNG exports . . . 8.5 million metric tons. When re-gassified at an import terminal the conversion is 1 metric ton = 584 cubic meters of natgas (the world of gas uses cubic meters, and the US cubic foot preference can be converted, though because this is exported, cubic meters aligns with recipients).
So export of LNG is 8.5 million metric tons X 584 =
about 5 billion cubic meters.
Sounds like a big number. Some reporters would add an exclamation point.
Some other numbers — The US consumes about 1.1 Trillion (with a T) cubic meters of natgas per year. The largest US LNG recipient non re-exporting is Japan, who get 10.3 billion (with a B) cubic meters of natgas in that form from the US.
Japan’s annual natgas consumption 93 Billion cubic meters.
The I word. Insignificant. Japan is the highest and it’s fueling only 10% from the US. (Also it is in decline as they re-embrace nuclear post Fukishima).
