In the Summer of “75 right before I went into the Navy with my best friend, we were in my brother’s apartment which was part of my parent’s house.
It was about 9:00 PM, we were watching “Cool Hand Luke” and after seeing the scene where Cool Hand Luke eats the eggs, my buddy says “I could do that!” so we jump up and open the fridge, but there is only a dozen there.
We opened the door to my parent’s house and ran down the wide staircase into the kitchen, and found two dozen there. (That was no surprise to anyone who knew my mom)
We pilfered her entire store, ran back up the stairs with our egg booty, and proceeded to boil three dozen eggs...I think we probably agreed if he looked like he was going to make it, we would drive and get some, but I don’t recall!)
My buddy starts putting the boiled eggs down, and I thought “Wow, he might do it!” and he burned right through ten and up past fifteen before he began to slow down. He got to twenty, and they were going down hard, but he doggedly kept choking them down.
I think it was around twenty-five eggs down the hatch before it all went explosively wrong!

That’s impressive, I think a lot of us wondered how we would do at it, my imagination would take me up to 20, maybe 30 but I couldn’t even get my imagination to get to those last 20 or so, even in my imagination I saw trouble on that second two dozen.
She still has interesting eyes, I’ve read that she was mystified at why the director spent 3 days getting that scene perfect, the men weren’t there and it was just her washing a car and playing around with it for 3 days without any idea what it was all about, supposedly she threatened to quit.
The girl they used for the scene with all the men desperate to bang her was a 15 year old cheerleader.
And saltpeter sprinkled in everything.

And the normal means of execution was by stoning by the community which the criminal also sinned against, which is more appropriate and effectual,as it would provide a better sense of justice by the community, as well as impressing the gravity of the crime far more than antiseptic state execution by some anonymous official.
