Detectives are investigating the discovery of two bodies in the Santa Cruz Mountains as a double homicide, officials said.
The bodies were found Monday in an abandoned truck parked on Highway 35 near Oak Ridge Road, Andrew Barclay, a spokesperson for CHP, told SFGATE. The section of Highway 35, also known as Skyline Boulevard, is in a secluded area about 3 miles from Castle Rock State Park, a popular hiking destination.
Officers arrived on the scene just after 6:30 p.m. on a report of an abandoned vehicle and found the two deceased people, Barclay said. Detectives were called to the scene and the truck was towed as evidence.
