In 2025, the New York Times and the rest of the legacy media have become less relevant due to the rise of the alternative media. The legacy news media, the entertainment industry, big box retailers, the old line Protestant denominations, and even professional sports are in various stages of eclipse. The worst decline is with what used to be called the Seven Sisters of mainline Protestantism, followed by the Big Three networks and CNN. Too many conservatives act as if it were still the 1990s, where only AM talk radio, epitomized by Rush Limbaugh, was challenging the mainstream narrative.

The so-called mainstream media is trying to rebrand
itself as the “Legacy Media” and I see you’ve fallen
for it hook line and sinker. You used it twice in
your post for God’s sake!

Tell me, when you use the term “Legacy Media” do you
point your nose skyward, arch your eyebrows and speak
in reverent tones?

OK, that was nasty but I’ve been noticing this new
term since some time last year. Yellow Journalism is
more appropriate and ought to be used more often.

Legacy Media my A$$ !
