How do they feel about suggestions Trump is considering a possible invitation to join the British Commonwealth?
How do they feel about Canada, or the provinces of Canada, becoming 51st-61st states?
Or the pointlessness of trying to muscle Greenland and offending all of the people involved, when there was no real need to do it? Just wave a check and sign a hundred year lease, and you don’t need to talk about annexation and you don’t have to sell all the other stuff from America that Greenland isn’t interested in!
Do they understand why Greenlanders, Canadians, Brits and Europeans are all telling the USA repeatedly, your healthcare system is utterly unsellable in Europe? There’s a simple principle common across Europe - whatever the health system is (because we have private and public mixes) nobody at all should be bankrupted by healthcare costs that are completely not their fault. You cannot sell your healthcare system easily because it violates such a cardinal principle that only the super rich carpet baggers with fingers in the pies are lobbying for it.
Do they understand how tiered import tariffs work - that the IMPORTER country is imposing the tariff on ITSELF in order to protect the domestic competition and throttle imports - and the tariff only gets levied if imports exceed an agreed amount?
(In other words, if Trump imposes a blanket tariff on importing X from Canada, but carries on buying X from Canada, then it’s just a tax on Americans using X.)
You can be fully supportive of the energy and ambition of President Trump, without having to agree with absolutely every last thing his administration thinks and does.
I have no issue with anyone criticizing President Trump on one condition.
They need to be smarter—IQ smart and street smarts—than he is.
Such critics are incredibly hard to find.
Lol.
Only an idiot unflinchingly supports every single thing a politician says. Or everything the Media says.
The conservatives I know are smart enough to know all this stuff you mention is all trolling and posturing, and they treat it appropriately. NORMAL people don’t take it seriously.
Only a dummy, or someone so blinded by ideology buys into Trump’s comments about Canada, Greenland, or any other thing like that, and they don’t realize how stupid they look when they screech about it. When the Leftists scream that Trump is going to invade Canada and treat it like a real thing, NORMAL people see it for the silliness it is.
I assume you are not one of those people who take this seriously. Are you?
Now, using Greenland as an example, if Greenland DID show indications of wanting to be part of the USA, and negotiations DID open up with Denmark resulting in a new state, who would say Trump did something wrong?
Who gives a rat’s ass about the “feelings” of Greenlanders or Canadians “offended” by the talk? I sure as hell don’t. And I don’t give a crap about their healthcare. They have been giving out these things (AND MORE) to their citizens for decades on the shoulders of OUR defense expenditures instead of carrying their fair share (and that is not even debatable if you review statistics of GDP and military expenditures of all NATO members since NATO was established) so you would be better off not invoking Leftist talking points about “super-rich carpet baggers”. That is verbatim Leftist lexicon.
And I have no problem AT ALL about using Tariffs as a lever to open markets closed by OTHER COUNTRY’S TARIFFS on the USA, which have often been in place, unattended, for DECADES, or tariffs used as a tool to force uncooperative nations (such as Mexico, Communist China, Colombia, and yes, even Canada) engaged in behavior deleterious to the health of our nation, to change their behavior.
Why do you direct this statement at me: “You can be fully supportive of the energy and ambition of President Trump, without having to agree with absolutely every last thing his administration thinks and does.” I am curious.
