If anything the evidence points more towards him being recruited or groomed by a foreign intelligence service like the USSR’s or Cuba’s.
I would urge you to read Oswald’s discussion of his time in the Soviet Union (appendix 16 of the Warren Report) and tell me if that sounds like it was written by a committed Communist.
In what I have read, I see Oswald as a fellow with un-self-discipline “smarts.” Not allowing himself time, to add experience that “hardens wood.”
In general, a lot of young people struggle to find their way; and each person has their own ability (or not) to be patient and age, along the paths they take.
Oswald tried several paths, then quit, and tried something else. He imagined what each path would be, but then soured on what the path proved to be.
His impatience finally overwhelmed him, and he decided in 1963, to “force his way to some/the top.”
