It is not my job to make others prosperous. I came to this country at age 20 with less than $100 dollars. I washed dirty dishes in hospital cafeteria to support myself to graduate with masters degree in mechanical engineering. Then worked my tail off in jobs to achieve the American dream. Nobody gave me one penny. I never collected unemployment or food stamps or any other welfare. If ordinary soul like me can make it in America, anybody can do it. Just takes discipline, hard work and avoiding booze and drugs.
At that time an ice cream cone was 5 cents. A gallon of gas was 20 to 25 cents. The hourly wage was a dollar to 2 dollar an hour. Money was tight.
The house I grew up in was an old Company Store house built for miners. When we move in, the only water was cold, no hot water. We took baths in the middle of the kitchen floor in a large wash tub.
I later planted trees in the forest, fought forest fires, cursed timber, plus other things.
Eventually, I went to college. Paid for it myself. I was drafted into the Army, did a war, got out and made it from there to here. Now I am make it from here to there.
Your story isn't that unique. I could tell you more about mine, but it would make no difference in the course of history. It is just a story.
These people are insufferable. Heinlein would have kicked their asses.
