I typically prefer the crash (if knowing it is inevitable prior to boarding the plane) occur below 10 mph before 10 seconds in to journey. Always have.

I’ll pick end of flight over beginning, particularly in Toronto. They seem to have a pretty good batting average with crashes on landing. And less fuel around.
