Miranda Devine: Trump is fighting a cartel of vile, corrupt and far-left judges trying to kill his campaign promises
NY Post ^ | 20 Mar, 2025 | Miranda Devine

If you ever doubted that Washington’s corrupt cartel of Democratic law firms, judges, NGOs, and deep-state bureaucrats is a machine designed to thwart the Trump administration, just watch as judge after judge blocks the president’s ability to keep his campaign promises.

It may not be brown paper bags changing hands, but this lawfare that defies the people’s will is every bit as corrupt.

It will be up to the Supreme Court to define the limits of presidential authority, but Chief Justice John Roberts’ preemptive scolding of Trump for musing about judicial impeachment doesn’t bode well for the president.

Trump won a resounding mandate in the November election, winning every swing state, the popular vote and both houses of Congress.

Democrats are rudderless, fighting each other and incapable of mounting an effective opposition.

So they are depending on the federal courts to be the “last bulwark against Trump,” as the New York Times puts it, celebrating the fact that almost 600 federal judges in courtrooms from Rhode Island to Seattle can issue emergency rulings to “stop the White House in its tracks.”

Politico has dubbed it the “court case presidency,” noting approvingly that “the courts have provided the only real opposition to Trump 2.0 so far.”

And so they have.

According to Attorney General Pam Bondi, judges issued more than 14 injunctions against Trump administration actions in February alone, with 160 “resistance” lawsuits winding their way through the system.

For example, we had Judge James Boasberg, an appointee of President Barack Obama, blocking the deportation of illegal alien criminals deemed a national security threat.

Judge Theodore Chuang, another Obama appointee, blocked DOGE’s dismantling of USAID, which turned out to be a slush fund for shady Democratic projects rather than a foreign aid agency

Why did no judges halt the illegal invasion allowed by Joe Biden?

“Miranda Devine: Trump is fighting a cartel of vile, corrupt and far-left judges trying to kill his campaign promises”

Obviously - and they did pick a good issue to pull the trigger on, which was interfering with the deportation of VIOLENT CRIMINALS, by, perhaps, the most CORRUPT judge in the country. That judge better think VERY HARD before trying to take on Trump...as Trump has a lot of ‘resources’ to work with.

It would be helpful for the Congress to impeach several of these judges for being partisan and exceeding their authority thus violating the Good Behavior condition of their service in the judiciary. The Democrats in the Senate will never go for it but just being impeached will shock and frighten the entire federal judiciary AND will make squishes on the SCOTUS like Robert realize he’d better step in and put a stop to this because this is really harming the legitimacy of the judicial branch.

Congress could and should also clip their wins by doing things like removing funding for any clerks for these judges, removing federal marshals from the courthouses (the judicial branch shouldn’t have enforcement power anyway), disallowing their expense claims, etc. The Congress could and should also expressly limit the power of federal judges to issue nationwide injunctions and TROs. They should be limited to the specific parties involved in the suit at hand. The congress can do this because all federal courts are courts of limited subject matter jurisdiction.....and yes over 30 years later I can still hear my 1L con law prof repeating that over and over....

It’s not really up to the Supremes, though they should have dealt with it long before now.

Congress needs to deal with it—IMO now.

Oh well you see, nobody had "standing" to sue. But magically now that its a Republican president implementing Republican policies now magically any and everybody who wants to sue has "standing". Did you know you can't find "standing" anywhere in the constitution? Did you know you can't find it anywhere in court decisions until the 1920's? Did you know you can't find district courts issuing nationwide TROs and Injunctions ever anywhere until the 1960s?

These are doctrines and powers the judicial branch INVENTED OUT OF THIN AIR for itself in the 20s and the 60s. There is no basis for them. They exist solely to suit the POLITICS of those on the bench.

That’s it, Miranda. It’s the judicial *cartel*. They deserve no respect, and MUST be ignored.

I think Robert Hurs assessments were wrong. The Bidens should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

I don't think so. These leftwing activist judges are of the same mindset as the guy who wiped his own feces on a Tesla. They have no shame and are willing to humiliate themselves in any way if it helps to stop Trump.

Of those 14 injunctions, how many were issued by a Democrat appointed judge? Probably all 14. Roberts is a compromised hack. Another gift to us from the Bush Family.

The Supremes need to address all of these cases obstructing the Executive.

Congress needs to deal with these judges.

Since government is high school, the sequel, everybody is paralyzed by the desire to be liked.
