A story that combines UFO cover-ups with the assassination of John F. Kennedy is a gold mine for conspiracy theorists. And that's just what author William Lester says he uncovered while conducting research for a new book on Kennedy: a memo written by JFK and addressed to the CIA in which the president requests confidential information about UFOs.
In the never-before-seen, top secret memo supposedly written on Nov. 12, 1963, the president ordered the CIA director to organize the agency's intelligence files relating to UFOs, and to debrief him on all "unknowns" by the following February. Ten days later, Kennedy was assassinated.

Given that both sides in the Cold War were trying out new and secret aircraft, it’s no surprise the military on each side would be running into “unidentified flying objects.” That’s not evidence for mysterious space aliens. It’s an expected result of Cold War efforts and technological advances. Throw in some confusion, weather phenomena, over-excited or otherwise exaggerated eyewitness reports and so on, and you get a great body of nonsense about UFOs.

Agreed—even though there are some Freepers in deep denial the JFK files have proven to be a treasure trove so far.
If the memo is real, it sounds like a very wise move by Kennedy as you’ve outlined. Another odd coincidence for sure. Responding to an attack from outer space was about the only thing we could agree on ‘63.
Have you looked at any of the JFK docs yet? I’ve been thinking about it, but 2,000 plus pdfs is more than a few hours of work.
By definition, no UFO can be explained, because if they could explain it, it wouldn’t be ‘unidentified’, therefore not a UFO.
You say that because you obviously have never seen one unlike me. Easy to call it all nonsense if you've never been an eye witness.

I disagree. We got a very revealing look at how completely rogue the CIA was back then. We saw exactly how they ran USAID color revolutions long before USAID was passed. We also saw how deeply imbedded MOSSAD and its agents were in the CIA.
Again, this story from 14 years ago has nothing to with what was released this week.
