Last April, USA Today columnist Sara Pequeño claimed that “Baby Olivia” was “just another attack on abortion access meant to further stigmatize the [abortion] procedure and the patients who choose it while doing nothing to help spread useful information or actually help families,” adding that “the video is designed in a way to make teenagers feel guilty for something they should not feel guilty about.” She later stated that the video’s purpose “is to dissuade viewers from choosing an option that is already heavily stigmatized. That will only hurt students.”

Almost pointless, to comment on this article here - since 1) virtually 100% of us FReepers already know where we stand on this issue, and 2) the "arguments" or "reasoning" put forth in this article are laughable / almost beneath contempt.

Pure statements of opinion such as "make[s] teenagers feel guilty for something they should not feel guilty about" don't need refutation. Rather, they deserve only our scorn and disgust.

Regards,

The pro-life video shows baby hiccups through embryoscopy, at about seven weeks after fertilization (nine weeks gestation). Multiple online medical articles state that while mothers do not begin to sense a preborn child’s hiccups until later in pregnancy, hiccups have been detected in the first trimester by ultrasound:

Life destroying, man hating SIECUS claims, “This isn’t education. It’s disinformation designed to shame students, confuse science, and deny young people the tools they need to make informed decisions about their health, their bodies, and their futures.”

Sounds equally as desperate as the claim made by a pro-abortion pol in 2022 that a prenatal heartbeat detected by ultrasound is “a manufactured sound designed to convince people that men have the right to take control of a woman’s body.”

SIECUS claims it will “not stand by while anti-abortion extremists attempt to hijack classrooms to spread dangerous lies.”

The organization’s 2025 State of Sex Education Legislative Look Ahead report referred to “Baby Olivia” as the “greatest potential for harm, especially in a post-Dobbs America,” because it would require students to be shown “stigmatizing and medically inaccurate fetal ultrasound videos as part of their sex education.”

If showing the development of a fetus would stigmatize abortion, maybe it's because there's something wrong with abortion. It's a case of truth vs. lies.

Sometimes a lioness will kill other cubs, she is a defect in the pride.

When those murderous lionesses are found out, the pride will tear them to pieces.

I am not sure if they devour the rampant lioness or if they leave it as carrion for the scavengers.
