Is it too late to give New Mexico back to Old Mexico?

I love a lot of things about New Mexico, but its government and those who put it place are not amongst them. I refuse to say they were duly elected. But they were put in place by someone/several someones. There have been too many shenanigans over the last two decades since I moved here.
