That was an excellent article-it explained it in an understandable way that even I could follow.

What I did not know was that Mann had "angel funders, who have paid for this case on his behalf and never had their identities disclosed".

Probably people who were getting USAID money.

In any case, Mann is a fraud, and if you read the notes from the Climate Model software that became available to view, his team had the temerity to use software notes in the code to discuss the fraud.

So the last line is one that rings truest for me:

The most fitting end to this case will be when whoever in the federal government pays for the University of Pennsylvania “climate science” centers pulls the plug on all the funding. That can’t come soon enough.

The most consequential aspect is stated at the last: “the whole issue of the fake science went completely over their (the jurys’) heads.” Hence the scam marches on.
