Okay, I had not even considered that part of the equation. But still. Why would she want to look that horrifying in photos for all of history?

I think she was so happy to be departing soon it wasn’t a big priority at that point. Did you see her do the summersault? Pretty exuberant for a 59 YO!

I actually asked AI your same question about the hair floating around during the coverage yesterday. It’s apparently not a big problem due to the ventilation and filtration.

For a 52 day period, September 8 to October 29, 2024, Butch and Suni WERE stranded on the ISS. Soyuz MS-25 was wrapping up their stint thereby ruling out any possibility of Butch and Suni from coming home on MS-25. Soyuz MS-26 launched 4 days after CST-100 CFT landed B&S couldn’t ride down on MS-26 because its crew needed it for their return. Space Crew 9 launched and docked on October 29, 2024. The way home for B&S had arrived. They finally had a way off the ISS.

Valery Polyakov spent 437 strait days aboard Mir. Mir was not near as nice as the ISS. It was small and cramped. How he did that is simply amazing. Someday someone will break his record......but no time soon.
