I do not think AI was prevalent in the 1980s, if in use at all

AI did not exist in any form in those days. Image processing was done on large computers and took a lot of time. Photoshop did not exist.

Thanks. I think I said that in a round about way. My dad was still using mainframes as a computer programmer in the 80s. Those primitive computer games were out then, too. No elaborate graphics, though.
