Certainly POTUS wants to make this deal, and they’re showing great prowess.
But some problems are intractable.
One or both sides has to want to quit.
Neither here does.

We seem to be attracted to them like moths to a light. I know Trump promised to defuse the conflict, and maybe he’ll succeed, but I hope that eventually we follow George Washington’s admonition about not getting involved in foreign entanglements. They are like quicksand.
