It’s Putin’s choice. He can choose to be friends of the USA, or to continue to be a Pariah state, with allies like Iran and North Korea.

Trump isn’t in the habit of entering into negotiations that he doesn’t feel he can win. This is really between Putin and Z-man and eventually there will be peace, on some terms yet to be determined as neither can allow this war to go on indefinitely.
When that happens one man will be in the position to take credit.
I don’t see DJT issuing an ultimatum to Putin under the banner of ‘peace negotiations.’
Let’s be realistic here. Not sure what you’re referencing, but there’s a LOT of ‘smoke’ being blown about this week.
Europe, Neocons, and Deep Staters won’t allow it. I expect a false flag any day now. I think we will see “Russia” to bomb some NATO nation.
The first thing to consider, is what are Trump’s goals with this? It has been suggested that Trump thinks he can win a Noble Peace Prize for stopping the fighting. Obama won one for nothing, so the thinking goes that Trump wants one too. Other explanations are that Trump is doing this to show his supporters that he kept a campaign promise. Many here think the Putin is just a nice guy who is misunderstood, and the world would be a better place if we just trust the KGB man and give him want he wants, then all will be right with the world. When Putin breaks another peace treaty these simpletons might finally understand that Putin is not to be trusted, and the U.S. should ramp up support of Ukraine. The last option I can find is that Trump views China as the main rival for the U.S., and it’s better to prop up Putin, despite the immorality of doing so, to have Russia an ally against China.
Again, it has to be part of an overall regional agreement.
What about Belarus, which also borders Poland. Also the status of the Baltic states must also be taken into account.
I beg to disagree. The war WAS between Putin and the US progressive left. Zelinsky was the puppet.
Trump is telling Putin the progressive left is no longer in power an we must return to the status quo ante.
The opening offer will not close the deal at this point. A deal will get made eventually. Putin isn’t interested in serious talks yet.

I heard the “ceasefire” deal involved ongoing weapons from the US. How should Russia respond to that? I think Ukraine (ie. Zelensky) is playing games yet again.
