One of the main reasons that Democrats have been recently sidelined is that the electorate is experiencing crisis fatigue. The fearmongering from Democrats on COVID, Climate, and Russia has finally exhausted the voting public. The Democrats are finding out that cultivating a state of fear in the populace to attain and maintain power has its limitations. Over time people get tired of hearing the same old drumbeat. The narrative wears thin and people start to see through it.
It is amazing that people fall for crisis narratives in the first place. The most likely explanation is that people regard themselves as intelligent if they go along with beliefs which experts hold with certainty. This leaves one vulnerable to false narratives. However, that’s not all. They may not perceive as acutely as others the economic pain that usually accompanies the policies put forth to solve the crisis. Some may even consider themselves wealthy enough to withstand the troubles, or maybe even clever enough to benefit from the fallout.
Crisis experts rely on their audience having a short memory. When climate experts claim that the Antarctic ice sheet is melting at an alarming rate, and forty years later the ice sheet has done the opposite and grown, they are relying on people not remembering their previous predictions. My personal favorite was when health authorities insisted that the COVID vaccine would confer immunity on vaccinated individuals and then we would discover that these same experts would be home in bed with their third bout of COVID. How does one ignore these inconsistencies? Even if one tried to ignore them, the cognitive dissonance would build up over time and take a toll on one’s psyche.

The crisis strategy is picked up and amplified by the “Karens” of society.
Perhaps the run of the mill lefty tires, but the Soros funding to the lunatics ensures constant chaos.

And, sadly, a bunch of them are here too. Particularly the Europeans.
Like clubbed baby seals.
I would add victim fatigue. Victimhood is virtue for them, and the competition has gotten too fierce. People are dropping out of the game.
There is nothing new under the sun. I seem to recall a rather old tale about a boy who was hired to watch sheep and kept calling “Wolf!” when there was no wolf.
BTTT
Convincing people that a virus could be stopped by a piece of cloth or six feet was their best stunt IMHO.
Or a tripled polar bear population.

>>boy who cried wolf
But his listeners were more intelligent that the audience today. When they saw cause and effect, they made the rational conclusion and changed their evaluation of the situation. Today’s audience seems unable to learn. Down with the Dept of Education. They’ve done the job for the left too well.
Anyone who listens to Scott Adams frequently knows how to calibrate their BS meter:
1) is the “news” a little too on the nose”?
2) is it based on anonymous sources?
3) does it involve Schiff, Swalwell, Brennan, Clapper, Warren or Raskin?
4) was any video Rupar’d?
5) and don’t forget the 48 hour rule: don’t get your knickers in a twist until 2 days have passed.
Excellent! Perhaps the party of slavery, infanticide, the Trail of Tears, government corruption, the ku klux klan, election fraud, and the financial exploitation of the American People will finally perish from the earth.
I wish the demoncRATs would perish from the Earth, but I am afraid that the battle between good and evil is an eternal battle that will continue until the end of days.
Used to listen to Scott Adams all the time. He’s where I first got interested in Musk.
People are realizing that all those wolves were fakes - sheeps in wolves clothing.
Doesn’t anyone learn? Boy cries wolf. Been around for a looooooong time.
Why does ANYBODY listen to ANYTHING that Democrats have to say???? They are ALL corrupt, serial liars and thieves!!!!!!!
I’m afraid you’re right. The evil Democrat Party and good, decent, benevolent Americans are locked in a Manichaean struggle: evil vs. good.
