Hollywood needs to be more disciplined when it comes to their "stars".

At the time that she made her silly comments, both she and Hollywood thought wokeness was still firmly in control. There was a whole string of horrible movies and TV shows where the stars and producers blamed their bombing on all of the "toxic" "racist" and "misogynistic" viewers. Zegler was just going with the program and no doubt Disney was fine with it. The problem was simply the timing, as the zeitgeist was changing and wokeness was on the verge of taking a severe beating.

If I remember correctly she also admitted to having never seen the original Disney movie or having read the story.

But she was sure she could make it better.

In the original Disney version Snow White comes across the dwarf's cottage and thinks that, because everything is built on a small scale, that it is a group of children who have been orphaned or otherwise abandon to survive on their own. Which actually happened. Since the place is mess she cleans it up (a departure from the original story where she is the one who makes the mess but she also cleans it up).

In the new version the dwarf cottage is a mess so Snow White makes the dwarfs clean it up.

Original She is a child, creates a mess but cleans it up when the owners come home.

Original Disney, She is an adult, sees a mess made by what she thinks are children and she cleans it up, with the help of animal friends before they come home. She hopes that they will provide her with shelter in return.

Current: she is an adult who orders the people who have taken her in to clean up the place because it is not up to her standards.

Now some people will say that I am nit picking but these all show a very different Snow White.

The original is probably closer to what would happen with a young teen princess who had people to wait on her. She is thoughtless but when asked to do something does it.

The second is a young adult but still an adult. You care for children because that is what an adult does.

The third is an unpleasant adult who is demanding of people who extend unearned kindness to her.

So maybe I am over thinking it but I know which one I would want my cubs to take as an example.

I can recommend at least one Disney Movie “Darby O’Gill and the little people” with Sean Connery singing! My Grandkids love that movie and so do I.
