Does this mean they aren’t going to remake “Song of the South” with one of Kamala’s “White Dudes” playing Uncle Remus? How ‘bout “Old Yeller” with a black lab playing “Yeller”?

Right. I didn’t think they were going to release it. I thought they were going to bury it deeper than “The Day the Clown Cried”.

The movie originally was cast and filmed with seven freaks, geeks, POC and only one was a dwarf IIRC. Between Zeglers woke comments about the remake and the ridiculous cast it was essentially scrapped and CGI Dwarfs were added.
Before casting and filming started woke POS and dwarf Peter Dinklage of Games of Thrones fame spouted off about stereotyping little people and they should not be cast as the dwarfs. Mind you other than TV reality shows little people don’t get get many jobs in Hollywood so seven potential good paying jobs for little people were lost as woke Disney execs. kissed the ring of Dinklage.
At that point the freaks and geeks were hired which was a disaster and a multi million dollar reshoot with animated dwarfs ensued.
A fuster cluck from the get go. Disney deserves every dollar they lose on this project. I suspect it will make a few hundred million at the box office. But the break even point according to an AI search is over 600 million world wide.

No. We weren’t allowed to go to movies; they were “sinful”. First movie I ever saw in a theater was “Lovers And Other Strangers” when I was in my early 20s.
On TV, we never saw the Disney show (”Disneyland”?) because it was on during evening church service on Sundays.

Yep, that and marketing costs rule of thumb is 50% of the production cost.
Disney is scaling back marketing thinking it’s throwing good money after bad. Letting Zegler lose would be doubling down on stupidity, but don’t underestimate Disney.
I probably have seen some of those on TV, but didn’t know they were Disney. I was thinking of the animated movies, which I know I’ve never seen. (We weren’t allowed to go to movies, or even watch them if shown in school — “Hollywood cesspool” - LOL!)

I didn’t know Disney did Babes In Toyland. Have never seen the movie, but love the music, which we had on a record done by an operetta company.

FTA——Snow White has already faced its share of controversies, which started right back when Zegler was announced for the titular role and critics took issue with the casting of a Latina actress.
Zegler garnered backlash for comments about the original animated movie,
describing the story as “dated” and the character of the Prince as “a stalker.”
The changes between the source material and the remake upset a lot of people.
David Hand, the son of one of the original film’s directors, publicly
denounced the project, noting that it’s “making up new woke things.”
