Any time you make fundamental changes to a system, those most dependent on the status quo will be most harmed by the change.
My 401K has taken a pretty good hit this week.

I am not complaining. I expect good things from these changes in the long run.
Smaller government is good. But the country is going to feel pain for a while. You don't have revolution with out pain.
As soon as the market believes tariffs will go into effect, it will start to affect prices. If you are a builder, and you think there will be tariffs on lumber, you buy lumber immediately to avoid tariffs, and so does every other smart builder, driving demand up, and driving prices up.
