China’s envoy to the EU Lu Shaye ‘appalled’ by Trump’s treatment of Europe

In comments on the CPPCC sidelines, the diplomat reiterated that Ukrainian peace cannot be determined only by US and Russia.

China’s special envoy for European affairs Lu Shaye said he was “appalled” by the way President Donald Trump had treated American allies in Europe, adding that a peace deal for Ukraine should not be determined only by the US and Russia.

“When you look at how the Trump administration has implemented a brazen and domineering policy towards Europe, treating its allies in this way, honestly, from a European perspective, it’s quite appalling,” he said on Wednesday.

“I believe European friends should reflect on this and compare the Trump administration’s policies with those of the Chinese government. In doing so, they will see that China’s diplomatic approach emphasises peace, friendship, goodwill and win-win cooperation”.

Lu made the remarks on the sidelines of a panel discussion with other senior diplomats during the annual session of top advisory body the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in Beijing.

He acknowledged the discussions between the US and Russia aimed at resolving the crisis, but stressed that any peace process must involve recognition and participation from all relevant parties, including European nations.

“Various proposed solutions should be subject to equal discussion, rather than being dictated by a select few,” he said.

“It shouldn’t just be decided by the US and Russia alone, especially since Europe has expressed significant concerns, feeling that such diplomatic manoeuvres sideline their position.”

we are all appalled by how Europe has been taking advantage of us for decades, and we finally have a president who is going to do something about it.

This whole thing is like calling leeches sucking all your blood, your best friends and allies.

Then when you attempt to pull the leeches off everyone stands around and says.. OMG!! how can you do that to your closest allies!

We are becoming friends with Russia, which pisses Europe off about their project Ukraine, and which also worries China, so China are gossiping to Europe about US infidelity.

Its like a normal day in a high school cafeteria.

Except with nukes.

Folks start asking where things are made before you buy. If it’s made in China pass on it.

Trump’s intensely Euro-skeptic view is exactly why Zuckerberg, Bezos, Musk, Cook, and other tech titans like him.

LOL! Sure. As if the Chinese are not simply trying to curry favor and stick their snouts ever deeper into the trough in Europe.

I’m sure China would have happily spent large amounts of money providing for the the Europeans’ defense AND let them run up a large trade surplus thanks to very unequal tariffs. Riiiiiight.

China sees an opening to cozy up to the EU and replace the US as its partner.

Would not be surprised if the eurowinies welcome the move to stick it to Trump.

If that’s the way it has to be then that’s the way it will be. I see no reason to finance the war machine of China.

By alienating Europe, 47 is creating a massive opportunity for China - will the EU bite?

Looks like the Chinese Communist Party wants to invite Europe under the Chinese umbrella. Will Europe accept the invitation?

Maybe we should shut down trade with China and block the canal from China ships.
They are getting chippy.
I suppose we don’t have that power.
