It seems that the Victoria Newland crew gave Zelinsky bad advice about how to deal with President Trump.
That's a recurring theme in Zelensky's political career, isn't it? Whether it's Boris Johnson or Victoria Nuland, he always follows bad advice.
Zelensky had an opportunity to tie the Trump administration to Ukraine with the mineral deal, but instead he gave Trump and Vance the option of simply walking away from Ukraine, which they probably will!

And they should.

Deep States are paranoid.
None of them hire their frontmen for brains or b@lls.
It often bites Deep States on their collective butt.
But whats are despots to do? 😔

Ukraine would gain the most from the deal. They would have an implied security guarantee as US companies and US citizens will be there. Putin would stay away from them to avoid further sanctions and US involvement. The US actually gains little from the deal. We can’t build anything until we clear all unexploded ordinances in the areas. The infrastructure has been destroyed. Also there’s no reliable data on the rare earths. On the other hand, Putin offers his and we know he has plenty.
