An Indiana Republican congresswoman who was born in Ukraine and immigrated to the United States 25 years ago jabbed the president of her birthplace following a shouting match with President Donald Trump.(snip)
"If you could give advice to President Trump right now about this minerals deal that's floating around, his desire that mirrors yours and mine to end the war, what advice would you give President Trump?" asked Gaetz, who resigned from his position in November ahead of the release of a damning ethics report into misconduct allegations.
"Be as tough as you can with them," replied Spartz, adding she knows people like Zelensky, since they are the same age and both grew up in Ukraine during the "tough, wild" 1990s.
"And you see what's happened when socialism fell apart. You have criminal activity. I mean, it was pretty bad. And he grew up in a very criminal area. So I understand these people and I was very tough on them," said Spartz.
She then repeated Trump needs to keep a tough posture on war-torn Ukraine as it defends itself from Russian aggression.
"And I said you know what? You can do whatever you want with your money and weapons. But with our money and weapons we'll tell you what to do. And if you don't like it you can go to hell."
Spartz, who lives in Noblesville, Indiana, with her husband and two daughters, serves on the House Judiciary and Education and Labor committees. She is also a commissioner on the U.S. Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe.

Wow. She is more American than most Americans, frankly.

I know two Ukrainian people, one a woman, the other a man. Both are electrical engineers.
Both support Russia, oppose the current government of Ukraine. One grew up in Ukraine, coming to America in her late 20s. The other one’s father was Ukrainian, but grew up in the American northeast.
Now you know 3 who do not support the current Ukrainian leadership. My grandparents were off-the-boat Ukrainians.
UKRAINE IS TOTALLY CORRUPT!
Saw a guy post somewhere on the net he was Ukrainian and that the army steals the money and goods when it gets them.
If true, and it probably is, what is the use with dealing with that?!
They left Ukraine because of all the corruption.
I'd mark red thru it and deduct 21 points for it...
Yes, I believe so.
My female Ukrainian friend said to me once, unforgettably, "In my town, if you saw a train, you got on it."
During the Russian-Ukrainian war's first year, she went back to Ukraine, went to her home town, got her 80+ year-old mother, and they both escaped. She brought her mother to the United States; she (Mom) has been to my house twice.
Typical. The other rub, Ukie officials were stealing the ethnic Russian’s pension checks. A story heard over and over.
That’s my girl and Congresscritter
Loved how she shut up Heinrich Garland in committee. She left him speechless

Tougher than a boot and smart.
A Ukrainian I know got his MBA in the USA and decided to go add help his country. On his first government job he was told it was required to be corrupt and was taught how. So he quit. Same thing at another government job. Eventually he became director of an international Christian ministry ‘s Ukrainian office. So that’s just one story of corruption there.
