Odessa is OK, but I'd hardly call it "paradise", unless maybe compared to Kabul. What I remember is that sidewalks were made with so many types of interesting bricks that I began taking pictures of them. The harbor was OK, but the massive Soviet-style steps were cultureless. I was there in November, so it's certainly much nicer in the summer...

It has been a very divided country for a long time. Especially since the unconstitutional color revolution. Many in the East and south saw the Russian economic miracle miss Ukraine. The wanted to share in that miracle by voting pro-Russian politicians. Euromaiden ended that

It’s funny how our minds sometimes forget some of the not so great part but emphasizes the positive. It’s been a long time since the last time I was there so my remembering may be a bit faulty. That is awful about the pastor. I’d imagine it’d be hard to live there and be pro Putin and Russian.
