The trip was for students who “identified” as students of color. I’ve never known a mixed-raced person who didn’t identify as a person of color. They seem to know it’s far more advantageous than identifying as white.

I agree but my question was how would the school see it.
To your point, you would think a child of a mixed marriage with a White mother would be considered White not black....e.g. obama, but as you said, more advantages to identify as a minority.
