The View co-host Joy Behar apologized to Elon Musk live on-air after calling him 'pro-apartheid.'
Behar made the claim during a rant on Thursday's show against the South African billionaire and his relationship with President Donald Trump.
'The guy was not born in this country, who was born under apartheid in South Africa,' she said, later calling Musk a 'foreigner' and 'a foreign agent.'
'So, [he] has that mentality going on. He was pro-apartheid, as I understand it.'
After a commercial break, Behar retracted the comment and admitted that she had no evidence of it being a true.
'Now I'm getting some flack because I said that Musk was pro-apartheid. I don't really know for sure if he was,' she said.
'He grew up at that time when apartheid was in full bloom, before the great Nelson Mandela fixed that. He was around at that time, but maybe he was, maybe he wasn't - he might have been a young guy, too.
'So, don't be suing me, okay Elon?'
Behar drew chuckles from the audience before again attacking the administration.
'They're allowed to say any lie they want but we have to be really strict,' she continued. 'That's why this show's important.'

It’s not much of an apology - she acts like it’s normal for her to accuse people of supporting apartheid without any evidence and that he would be ‘over reacting’ if he reacts the way she would if falsely accused. What would Behar do if Elon used his megaphone to tell everyone she was pro-apartheid, and then sneer ‘oh please don’t sue me Joy.’
Given Musk’s income, calculating damages could produce some heart attacks among The View’s attorneys.
Unfortunately the blacks were better off (wealth, crime, life expectancy, healthcare…) under the white lead government of South Africa. It’s an inconvenient truth but truth is truth.
It would certainly complement her looks. Unfortunately she can only wear it once.

There was less than NOTHING AT ALL "communistic" about apartheid; nor was it in anyway akin to Nazi Germany.
OTOH...the ANC was and still IS COMMUNIST!And it was whites, where were Stalin USSR COMMIE TRAINED who started the ANC and trained the blacks ( who later murdered almost all of those whites! ) who later became the black leaders and heads of the ANC.

The apology means nothing. They said it on the air and knew it was false. Today they are just arguing on how much to pay Elon. I would suggest the entire net worth of MSNBC would be appropriate. Considering their current rating it would not be much.
