Trump is looking at bombing Mexican cartels, against Mexican government wishes, because an armed narco state on our border has killed tens of thousands of our citizens and is a national security threat When Russia does it - it’s merely because they are evil
Mexican cartels are criminal organizations that own the Mexican government, and are actually a major component of killing US citizens.
What drugs was Ukraine pushing into Moscow? How many Russian citizens were killed by Ukraine before the special military operation? Before the little green men suddenly turned into Spetsnaz? What did Ukraine ever do inside Russia's borders? Russia invaded because "oh no, they might join a defensive military alliance with someone. Oh, and they're full of "Nazis" too!". (Yes, going with their claimed reason, not the actual land/influence grab.)
Russia's special military operation was almost entirely offensive, and defensive only with the fun twisting wordplay. These US hitting the cartels would be a defensive operation, wouldn't be necessary if Mexico would police itself properly, and isn't us attacking the country itself.

If I lived in Europe I’d be more concerned about Russia than I am sitting in my hovel here in the western hemisphere. Russia will always have designs on its neighbors. It’s just how they are.
Why? Russia's taken three years and haven't even gotten more than 100 miles into Ukraine, against a country 1/3 their size, a smaller military, using a hodgepodge of older and obsolete equipment. How does Russia pose any threat to the rest of Europe?
