The lists are at GSA.gov. Most federal offices are leased rather than owned. That is, the taxpayers pay rent to someone else.

I hate to mention, that wasn’t this one of the causes of Sears and Red Lobster’s failure.
To sell their buildings to a leasing agency and then rent instead of owning.
In The case of sears, the company ceo also owned the leasing company. So at least HE made money while sears went bankrupt

What I think they mean is they would sell the building. Then if they need office space for Federal Workers to lease the space they need.

Personally I would move completely out of San Francisco.

Move all the Federal Staff to Sacramento. It is much easier to get to (and no tolls on roads or bridges).
