President Trump also announced for the first time the actual amount of US aid to Ukraine: $67 billion in military aid, $31.5 billion in direct budget support.

None of which was a “loan”.

As for the rest of the expenditure - notwithstanding a load of dough being siphoned off for kickbacks and laundering, most of it’s gone to established US defense suppliers and international partners, to replenish obsolete US kit for American use.

Not only is he pulling the plug on further funding for Ukraine, he’s demanding Ukraine set aside $500bn of natural assets for the USA.

If Ukraine can afford to take the deal, and these minerals can be extracted without huge expenditure, the USA stands to make 1500% profit over three decades. More than enough to offset the grifting.

Those figures came from Zelensky, not Trump or anyone in his administration.

"In total, the U.S. separately gave us about $67 billion in weapons, and we received $31.5 billion in budget support," Zelensky said.
