My wife was a fight attendant for 37 years, and she said when she started (early 80’s) it was fairly rare to give out seatbelt extensions. When she retired, she said having enough extenders was problematic as some people required more than one. There is a problem and it needs to be addressed by having people with more “girth” pay for more space.
I remember watching The Honeymooners as a kid and being disgusted with Jackie Gleason. I thought he was horribly fat.
Recently I saw a clip from an episode of that and he didn’t look that bad compared to what we see now.
How times have changed.
