Freedom of expression is guaranteed in Article 5 of the Basic Law, the German constitution, which also makes clear that this freedom has limits in order to, for example, to protect young people, privacy or personal honor.
The protection of personal honor plays a particularly important role in the German legal system, said lawyer Ralf Poscher, director of the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law in Freiburg. “This originates from the time in history when notions of honor were even more important. They were then embraced by the middle classes too, and were incorporated into our legal system.”
It is a criminal offense in Germany to insult others, and it is also illegal to spread lies that demean others. That means freedom of speech is much more restricted in Germany than, for example, in the US, says Nadine Strossen, a professor at New York Law School. A former president of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Strossen is known as a strong advocate for free speech. […]
The debates about the limits of freedom of expression have intensified since the rise of social media. It has become possible for anyone to publicly express their opinion — even if that means spreading hate and agitation.
According to a study sponsored by Germany’s Family Ministry, almost one in two people in Germany have been verbally abused online. A quarter of respondents said they have been subjected to physical violence and 13% to sexualized violence. Respect for authority is a valuable trait in a nations people. Therefore, the userpation of authority in such a nation should be severely constrained and punished. You can outlaw perjury, slander and libel without cutting everyones toungue out.
Well, consider where Marxism originated.
Germany is not far from complete islamization. They’re in for a real schooling about honor culture.

Wa-a-a. I catch that almost every few days on FB and GAB. Does not hurt me a bit.
Top American businesses and academics in some ways foretold and strongly influenced the eugenics and processes of Nazi Germany. They of course added their own focus and efficiency in their execution (and excutions).
Apparently this does not apply to Germans who call President Trump the nastiest of names. My sister does this on Facebook all the time with no repercussions. If she said the same thing about Olaf the swat team would be at her door within hours, if not sooner.

World War 2 killed off the warrior class. After the war, the smart Germans moved to other countries. What remains are the weak, the cowards and the idiots.
So WWII killed off all their A-holes and sadists, a few left, and the ones remaining are the cowards and idiots?
Doesn’t doesn’t speak well for them.
Sadly, you are correct about the cars. The golden era of German cars has passed. The problems with them today are numerous and their are becoming more like the finest of British engineering and dependability.
Ouch. Hadn’t thought of it, but I think you’re right.
“The discipline which makes the soldiers of a free country reliable in battle is not to be gained by harsh or tyrannical treatment. On the contrary, such treatment is far more likely to destroy than to make an army. It is possible to impart instruction and to give commands in such a manner and such a tone of voice to inspire in the soldier no feeling but an intense desire to obey, while the opposite manner and tone of voice cannot fail to excite strong resentment and a desire to disobey. The one mode or the other of dealing with subordinates springs from a corresponding spirit in the breast of the commander. He who feels the respect which is due to others cannot fail to inspire in them regard for himself, while he who feels, and hence manifests, disrespect toward others, especially his inferiors, cannot fail to inspire hatred against himself.”
True that, but certain individuals here have never read or seen anything about Germany that propaganda movies and literature from the dark era of the Nazis.
But isn’t it utterly ironic that someone calls himself a Christian and favors nuking all of Europe? Obviously with no regard for those nations, which are not enemies of America, whether allied to America or neutral?
Well, a good number of friendly Freepers have warned me of them and their ilk..
