Speeding up the end to the war will actually also speed up the demise of Putin. People don’t understand how that region works.
Putin is 71 yrs old in a country with male life expectancy sub 70. (No, it is not vodka. Analyses indicate something genetic. Similar numbers are seen in various other Eastern Europe countries with very low alcohol consumption)
He was just elected to a 6 yr term last year. He has already said it is his last.
Something I heard somewhere before that war began was that Putin has planned his retirement. What he saw going on with Ukraine and the west actually has postponed it.
He wasn’t going to leave when what he saw was a real threat to Russia was right in front of him.
People wondered and marveled why he took the bait to enter Ukraine. He was going to end it once and for all.
With all due respect, that's a crazy interpretation.
