It is definitely causing a few disruptions in my part of fly over country. Some farm products are shipped via USAID grants. An AG department at the local university receives funding from USAID. They are going to have to shut it down if they cant get funding from elsewhere, etc...
If there is a need for these products, they can now be sold on the open market.
local university receives funding from USAID.
If it is a worthy cause, they should get private funding.
I have been wondering about some of THAT type of stuff. I have to believe there are people in the State Department who are examine these programs for the “good” ones.
I DO know that because of the war in Ukraine, the food stocks for Africa will reach a critical level by the end of the 2026 Harvest. Most of their grain was grown in Ukraine. The lack of farmland and fertilizer has pretty much shut those shipments down.
If we do not address that soon…there are going to be a lot of hungry kids in Africa. Ben Geldof and Bono will be doing a lot more videos. And if we could avoid that noise…it would be great.
