The Social Security Database contains 394 million people with eligible social security numbers. The problem is there are only 334 million Americans. Obviously, not all of the additional 60 million are actually collecting social security but clearly some are....

My bet is a lot of it went to prop up Europe’s welfare states.

Betcha...

“Elon goes after the 3rd Rail of American Politics.”

Not at all. He is going after the fraud in Social Security. It makes Social Security more stable.

“I was SO RELIEVED when the funeral home told me they were responsible to report it.”

Same for us when our mom died. The Funeral Director did everything. I suppose that my brother, whose name was on her bank account, could’ve pulled a fast one and paid the FD not to report it. Of course, that didn’t happen — but I can see how dishonest people might make that deal.

If Trump, DOGE, etc., want to bring people to their side, they need to make an effort to inform everyone that TPTB in SS have been stealing money for decades. If they hadn’t done that, the agency would not be headed for ruin and their benefits wouldn’t be in jeopardy.

Social Security and Medicare are big deals with boomers having aged out of the workplace.

I wonder how common this fraud is? Elderly family member dies, they dispose of the body by burying it secretly or other means, and grifter kids keep living in the house of that relative and collecting the checks.....for years? Does th3e SSA do wellness checks to verify life from time to time?

Just heard that WE pay for Israel’s retirement for their citizens as well as their cost of all education.

I can’t find it now but there was a pic circulating of 2 obese IRS agents and one in a wheelchair in training with weapons. They were so fat their bulletproof vests looked like little baby bibs.

I would have law enforcement to check everyone over the age 0f 130 who is supposedly receiving Social Security. I'll bet that many of these are at the same address.

If that address does not exist according to a computer that it should be visited. If there is no such place. Then start from there as there is an extreme likelihood that Social Security Fraud is occuring.

In cases where the government is handing out money, there will be fraud. At best, Federal programs are designed that way. There is almost a total lack of accountability when it comes to spending our tax dollars.

They know who cashed the checks. Claw back the money. If nothin else, seize assets and imprison the frauds.

It's very likely that the money was paid as a direct deposit. The descendant's spouse, sister, brother, cousin, main squeeze, whatever, just kept pumping the ATM. I know, ATM's have camera's but tracking down and identifying the individual may not be so easy.

I suspect that it is a clandestine illegal industry.

Maybe cross reference Ss checks with census records— if the census records do not exist, have local police conduct a “2wellness check.” If the wellness check fails, arrest whoever is cashing the checks on fraud/larceny.

I would not be surprised if funeral himes are involved but it might be more difficult to get them.

Really. Then what is this, Mr. Foulmouth:

“Israeli Tel Aviv University received $615 million in grants from the US in 2023, according to its Form 990 filing, a document required for tax-exempt organizations.

While it is unclear how much of this funding came from USAID or US taxpayers, reports indicate that $462 million was spent on salaries and employee benefits.”

It’s from Star Trek.

“Set phasers to Stun.”

“Set death fields to False. Unless you are wearing a red shirt.”
