France would like the EU - which is a confederation and a customs union - to become a nation, the United States of Europe. France thinks unification would mean it (France) would emerge as the leader of a third force in the world. No. Under the French vision for Europe, Europe would result in the entire continent becoming weak.
The Euro-weenies should think what it would take for them to be like Poland. Instead of relying on the U.S. to defend them, they should develop a culture by which they defend themselves. If Europe thought like Poland, it would be second in the world, not a third force. The EU, either on its own or as part of NATO, would be ahead of China and well ahead of Russia.
An alliance of a strong Europe with the United States would then help both through mutual defense, instead of an “alliance” by which we defend them, and in so doing force us have to stretch our defense thin.

Mutual defense against whom? A Russia with only 150 million people?
And why should we be allied with a Europe attempting to export its socialism, LGBT, and green self-destruction throughout the planet?
Poland is not self-sufficient.
