I did neighborhood canvassing for the Trump47 campaign last Fall. My standard approach when someone answered the door was “ Hi, I’m < name>, I’m a neighbor here at < community name>, I’m campaigning for Trump and we’d like your vote in the next month.”
In general, this is a Trump friendly area, the analytics were theoretically selecting for low-propensity Trump leaning voters, so most of the time it went well from there. But every now and then you’d get an obvious Democrat. And then there was the #TDS case who, upon that, immediately launched into a loud rant.
“NO I’M NOT VOTING FOR TRUMP, THAT GUY IS TERRIBLE THAT GUY IS CRAZY, NO WAY!”
Meanwhile I’m standing there thinking “dude, look at you, who’s crazy here?” But not saying it.
I quickly got the guy calmed down, agreed to disagree, and moved on, but WOW, that was interesting, encountering clearly immediate #TDS in the wild. A lot of people consume the fake media and they call it programming for a reason.
For all their claims of *tolerance*, *Love is love*, and *Hate has no home here*, democrats are the most intolerance, hate filled, unhinged, easily triggered people I have ever met.
