Trump’s envoy Keith Kellogg at the 8th Ukrainian Lunch at the Munich Security Conference:
◼️We have achieved more progress in 30 days than the previous administration in three years.
◼️We have to secure Ukraine’s sovereignty. European allies will play a significant role in this.
◼️No one will be excluded from the Ukraine negotiation process – but it is impossible not to talk with Putin.
◼️Ukraine’s security guarantees require a collective vision – not just from Americans, but from all allies.
◼️It’s difficult to say what the peace talks will look like, but the goal is to stop the killing and the war. Ukrainians and Russians will be at the table, with Americans as mediators.
◼️European interests will be represented in the negotiations, but Europeans won’t be at the table “in person”.
▪️ A ceasefire and a peace treaty are not success for Ukraine. The definition of success will be when the ceasefire is violated for the first time and how all parties react
▪️The war in Ukraine must end sooner than a year. I publicly take 180 days to involve all parties
▪️We have made more progress in resolving the war in 30 days than the Biden administration has in three years
▪️In the negotiations, I am responsible for the direction of Ukraine, and Special Representative Witkoff is responsible for the direction of the Russian Federation.
▪️Different options for security guarantees for Ukraine are being considered, but the final decision will be up to Trump
▪️Ukraine’s losses in the war with the Russian Federation are three times higher than the US losses in Vietnam and Korea combined. Trump wants to stop this.
▪️The US will be a mediator between the Ukrainians and the Russians. It is still difficult to say what the peace negotiations will look like.
