Why are almost all politicians the same?
You mean, why aren't they all paragons of virtue, thoughtful careful thinkers, sensitive to their constituents, willing to sacrifice themselves for the sake of their country, faithful to the US Constitution for which they pledged their sacred honor?
Well, I expect a few were at first were, and then became seduced by power and the ever-present temptations of self, the world and the enemy. Some had very few of these virtues and slipped through the system simply because they got in unopposed or worse yet, had a similar opponent.
Between these extremes are the leaders we want for this nation. Those who stay true to their principals and do not lie to the public decade after decade.
I see such a one as in Trump. He stood on his principals and honesty of who he was and blew away the opposition for years. Not only to a corrupt press, and a faithless to their country Democrats, but even those he gave the chance in his own party during his first term.
And found out, the hard way what politics can do the worst to a man and his family. Yet survived it and beat the odds yet again.
Will we see the likes of him again? I hope so, as I am seeing hopes in his latest of those confirmed who withstood some of the vilest onslaughts I have ever witnessed.
Will the "Good old boy" network rise again? Will the gotcha anti-americans rise again? I doubt we have seen the last of either.
My only faith is in the system which so aptly exposes the worst of them; The Constitution of the United States of America for which they supposedly vowed their sacred honor.
