Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have apprehended an alleged El Salvadoran hitman who was apparently living a quiet life in Seattle.
Jose Marin-Lozano, 47, was arrested Tuesday in the liberal city, where he has been living illegally for the past few years.
Authorities noted that police in El Salvador issued a warrant for his arrest on aggravated homicide charges in 2020.
The following year, police issued another warrant for aggravated homicide, proposition and conspiracy in the crime of aggravated homicide, ICE claimed.
Marin-Lozano had previously been accused of kidnapping and killing a civilian in 2018 while working as a police officer, La Prensa Grafica reported.
He was acquitted of the charges by a San Salvador Sentencing Court, but years later a criminal court overturned the decision and ordered a retrial after a sergeant came forward as a witness.
Other members of the Zacatecoluca police gang - known for assassinating targets- have since been convicted and sentenced to prison, but Marin-Lozano apparently fled to the United States.
It is unclear when or how he arrived in the country, ICE officials said - though they noted it was not done lawfully.

Deport him in two body bags.

Sounds like this guy’s going to have a ‘permanent vacation’ in El Salvador’s kick-ass jail.
Another result of the Democrats’ immigration policy, which was nothing but a scam to change the demographics of the country.
ICE Seattle makes arrests as lawmakers try to step in
News of the arrest comes as local lawmakers have prioritized legislation to help criminal illegal immigrants avoid jail time.
Senate Bill 5103 was approved by the state Senate last week. It speeds up the process for immigrants to apply for pardons or sentence reductions if they are facing deportation. The measure passed on a straight party-line vote.
State Senator Bob Hasegawa (D-Seattle) is the bill’s sponsor. He said it offers a second chance to illegal immigrants.
“I think it’s just the right thing to do. These are Americans who have paid their dues to society,” he said. “This provides an expedited pathway to make sure that they don’t face deportation when ICE comes knocking on their door.”
