I love self-checkout, especially when I only have a few items to buy.
Women like this one are ruining it for everyone.
I too like self checkout - no need to involve another human for a simple transaction. My local grocery store reverted to all human checkers though due to ‘shrinkage’ and it certainly isn’t a high crime area.
When I go to my local Kroger, I always try to use the self-check out just next to the clerk’s station. The lady normally on duty is named Caroline and she is the nicest and most efficient lady I can recall ever meeting at a large retail store. She and I chat as I check out my products and she keeps an eye out for others who need assistance.
Caroline never complains if I do something stupid like enter “11” instead of “1” for the number of heads of lettuce I’ve purchased. She calmly corrects my error and then laughs because she knows I’ve done that exact thing more than once. I don’t like people who take advantage of Caroline and cheat at the check-out line.
