And my Great Grandfather had a saying too. He was a true gun fighter and died by the gun in a shoot out. Someone once asked him why he always filed the front sights off his pistols.
“Two reasons. First I don’t need those to hit what I shoot. And second if someone ever takes my gun away from me and shoves it up my a$$ it will not hurt as much when I pull it back out”.
There is wisdom in this too... You really do not want to purposely make the front sight even bigger if it is not even needed at all.
